Father Sings Traditional Wiradjuri Welcome Song to Soothe Baby Daughter – Keep Informed

Father Sings Traditional Wiradjuri Welcome Song to Soothe Baby Daughter

A young Indigenous Wiradjuri baby was soothed by the sound of her father singing, in Cowra, New South Wales on June 2.

In a video posted to Instagram by Dinawan’s Connection, little Mylah-Lee is seen starting to cry before her father Warren begins singing a traditional Wiradjuri Welcome Song and settles her down to sleep.

“Mylah-lee loves her daddy’s voice” read the accompanying post. “Our Wiradjuri word for babies is ‘burraay’” Dinawan’s Connection said.
